When Wildlife Saved Me | Wildest Ones – Episode 02
In this episode of Wildest Ones, we meet wildlife photographer Mike Phelps and hear how his connection to nature helped him through some of the most difficult moments of his life. Growing up with a love for the outdoors, Mike’s relationship with the wild took on a deeper meaning following experiences with mental health struggles, both within his family and in his own life. At his lowest point, wildlife photography became more than a passion. It became a way to process, rebuild and move forward. Through quiet moments in nature and time spent observing wildlife, this film explores how the natural world can offer perspective, resilience and a sense of grounding when it’s needed most.
This episode contains discussion of mental health struggles and suicide. Directed, Filmed and Edited by Simon Owen.
